Diverse growth in industries
MångVäx is a project for gender equality and diversity in Norrbotten's industrial business life that was managed in 2015-2017 by IUC Norrbotten in collaboration with Luleå University of Technology and Plan Sju kommunikation (now Konsultbuketten).
Mångväx is a project where companies gain direct business benefits from knowledge and methods for gender equality and diversity in working life and business. Funders are the EU Structural Fund, the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten County, Norrbotten County Council, Luleå Municipality, Piteå Municipality, Längmanska Företagarfonden and the participating companies.
Luleå University of Technology is a collaborative partner in the project with the role of gender science quality assurance in the project and the companies based on previous research on the nature and change of gender patterns in organisations and society. The researchers participate as a sounding board for the project management throughout the process and perform analyses of the companies' starting position and change in terms of awareness, problem formulation and target image. The gender science knowledge support will be helpful in understanding prevailing gender patterns, distinguishing organisational change potential and dealing with the various forms of resistance that can arise in change processes.
