Nordic Innovative Living
Nordic Innovative Living is a research project, during 2022–2024, that aims to create modern, attractive and smart homes that have every imaginable comfort without affecting the environment or the wallet in a negative way.
The project's vision is a smart home where people live in symbiosis with the Nordic nature and use desirable solutions for a zero climate footprint. The aim is to co-design a future model for smart homes built in Norrbotten, with smart solutions and services for effective and lasting behavioural changes and through this to spread knowledge about how people of different ages, abilities, social strata and gender can live more sustainably.
The project uses a transdisciplinary and co-creative design approach to explore people's behaviours with, and barriers to, smart energy technology. The project creates solutions for sustainable housing and living in and through the co-creation of a smart home.
The project is financed by “Design for Everyday Energy Efficiency” - a program from the Swedish Energy Agency with SVID, the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation, as coordinator. The project is carried out in cooperation with Brainbow Labs and Innovative Living Sweden.
