Energy efficiency
We study aspects related to energy efficiency at component, process and system level, with a particular focus on buildings and industry.
Areas of expertise
Energy efficient buildings
Research area: Studies of energy efficiency in buildings and indoor climate using both experimental and numerical methods.
Research objectives: Develop methods and knowledge to understand and reduce energy use in buildings. Develop models to understand how the indoor climate changes with different building techniques and heating systems.
Detailed modeling and simulation
Research area: Studies of components and processes using detailed models to understand, analyze and design the process/component.
Research goal: Develop detailed models for different processes/components in order to create optimal designs.
Component analysis
Research area: Study and analysis of different components for improved performance and energy efficiency. Examples of components include flue gas cleaning, heat recovery and drying systems.
Research objective: Understand the design and operating parameters of components and how these affect the performance and energy efficiency of the component.
