Future transportation – Consequences for humans, energy systems and society
The overall objectives are to explore and analyze the implications of future transport transition scenarios for the energy system and to provide policy-relevant insights based on a deeper understanding of how technologies, policies and individual attitudes and incentives interact to shape the transition.
- A number of contrasting long-term scenarios are developed in close cooperation with experts from national authorities (the Swedish Transport Administration, the Swedish Transport Agency, Traffic Analysis, the Swedish Energy Agency, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency), based on identified current "megatrends" (e.g. digitalization, urbanization, environmental awareness, etc.).
- Analyze individuals' attitudes towards certain scenario characteristics by using choice experiments.
- Analyze the impact on the entire Swedish energy system using TIMES-Sweden.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration between social scientists and energy engineers.
