Smart waste treatment in a circular economy (SMACK)
- Contribute to more efficient utilisationof infrastructure for organic waste treatment.
- Achieve increased production of high-value materials / energy carriers from wastes and improved economic performance of waste treatment.
- Formulate new concepts for interaction between biological and thermochemical waste treatment and assess those concepts (energy and resource efficiency, environmental and economic performance, and feasibility of implementation).
- Strong stakeholder perspective:
- Establishing a panel of actors within biological and thermal waste treatment and users of recycled resources
- Enable knowledge transfer regarding identified opportunities
