Trees For Me (Center of Excellence)

The aim is to ensure sustainable biomass production from fast-growing hardwoods with security and flexibility of supply and quality, while reducing trade-offs and ensuring efficient and sustainable value chains for wood-based raw materials and fuel assortments.

Assess the role of value chains based on fast-growing hardwoods in the energy system transition, from a technical, economic and environmental point of view.

• Various tree species selection, stand management, supply chain design and conversion technologies.
• Extraction of small-diameter wood from fast-growing hardwood plantations - Trade-offs and synergies.
• General implementation and production potential
