Courses on Materials Science and Engineering
Our subject is involved in the education of engineering students at both undergraduate and advanced level. We also train doctoral students.
We have traditionally done tailor-made commissioned training for the Armed Forces and other companies, which we are very interested in.
- T0004T, Metallic and Polymeric Materials
Basic and broad materials course. In the course you will learn about metallic materials, their structure and how the mechanical properties are linked to the material's structure and manufacturing method. You will also learn to read phase diagrams and gain a basic understanding of phase transformations. You are also introduced to traditional heat treatments of steel and how these affect structure and properties. In this course you learn the "language" that is important for further courses in materials technology. - T0003T, Materials engineering and material selection
A continuation course to T0004T that gives you in-depth knowledge about metallic materials, their properties and structure and the influence of manufacturing methods on structure and properties. In the continuation course you also get the basics of material selection methodology. - F0032T, Thermodynamics and Heat Transport
Important course to provide an overview of the thermodynamic phenomena that are central to materials science.
Please visit the swedish page for more information about application. - T7008T, Phase Transformations
- T7004T, Surfaces
- T7028T, Metalworking
This course provides you with the basics of metalworking. Includes machining of products with a main focus on groove and plate rolling. The course covers materials engineering issues, including metallurgy, from blank preparation to machining and heat treatment of products. - T7009T, Project Course, Materials Engineering
Here you are given the opportunity to apply your knowledge in metal processing. The project course is carried out in close cooperation with the industry by which also the project issues are defined. - Degree project in Machining Technology
