Academic (un)employment and Mobility in the Arctic North
Full project name: Academic (un)employment and Mobility in the Arctic North - A Joint Socially Responsible Approach
The project is coordinated by Oulu University and promotes academic work-related mobility in northern Finland, Sweden and Norway. The goal of the project is to help graduates find work in a socially sustainable way and, on the other hand, to contribute to the need for competent labour in the ICT industry, which is an urgent problem throughout the Nordics. The project will collect information about the region's employers and the needs of the workforce in order to contribute to a better working life in a socially sustainable and responsible way. During the project period, therefore, an Arctic HR network will be established, and the employment policy and recruitment routines will be further developed by universities and local stakeholders through a collaborative process that integrates a gender and diversity perspective. The Swedish project participation is led by Human Work Science at Luleå University of Technology and financed by ERDF Interreg Nord and Region Norrbotten. The project runs from August 2018–September 2020.
