Teachers’ working conditions in times of competition, choice and privatisation
The full project name: Teachers’ working conditions in times of competition, choice and privatisation: A Swedish-Australian comparison
In Australia, the education sector has long been characterized by private alternatives, which means that we can learn from comparing with that context. In this project, teachers' working conditions are focused on in relation to the organization of work and terms of employment, in the light of current privatization, marketization, election and competition agendas. The project is a sister project to the FORTE project, and is a comparative study of how teachers perceive their working conditions in Sweden and Australia, respectively.
The project also includes research exchanges, at junior and senior level. Karolina Parding leads the project, but Anna Berg-Jansson and Mats Jakobsson are also part of the Swedish part of the project team. Partners in Australia are the University of Sydney and Curtin University; Curtin Business School. The project is financed by STINT and runs between 2014-2020.
