Det interprofessionella traumateamet
In the event of a serious accident, trauma teams are activated to prepare staff for the arrival of a seriously injured person at the hospital. The variety of the team composition and the complexity of the care provide challenges.
Studying trauma teams in which the radiology nurse is included reveals the team's dynamics, obstacles and opportunities for cooperation and the need for development to enable good and safe care. There are studies that show the importance of the correct use of triage systems, RETTS, reduces the risk of over- or under-triage and activation of all/parts of the trauma team, which leads to increased efficiency in the utilization of the resources involved. The experience of the radiology nurse and key persons in the trauma team of critical incidents during collaboration reveals strategies for dealing with difficult situations. Understanding the complexity of interprofessional collaboration strengthens the development of patient care in trauma and can ultimately lead to even safer patient care. The overall aim of the project is to map and describe the radiology nurse's participation in the interprofessional trauma team.
