To care for (s) before and during transportation to and within a hospital or to be left at home after calling 112.
Suffering an acute illness or injury and needing care and transportation to, within or between hospitals means being in a difficult and vulnerable situation. Being transported as an acute, seriously ill patient involves an increased risk of complications and injury.
It is often desirable to minimize the time spent and as staff it is important to provide good and safe care during transport and transfer. Monitoring and treatment need to be adapted to the needs of the patient and the environment. The aim of this study is to investigate how safe care can be provided during transportation of acutely, severely ill or injured patients. The context is prehospital via, for example, ambulance or helicopter and intrahospital, for example, as a patient transported from the intensive care unit to X-ray and the care associated with this.
