Waiting for an ambulance (IVPA)
When people's lives are in danger, especially for people living in rural areas, every minute is precious in life-threatening conditions. From a societal perspective, long ambulance response times require well-functioning co-use and co-utilization of existing resources in the caller's vicinity to reduce suffering and save lives.
An IVPA mission is a collaboration between different organizations where the alerting of ambulance and rescue personnel is done by a third party. The rescue actors are simultaneously dependent on each other to provide support, with a simultaneous need for external support from the organizations involved. Knowing the rescue actors who came to your home and helped can feel safe as it is someone you recognize and trust, while at the same time there may be a desire to remain anonymous. In the meeting with the caller, a listening manner is valuable in order to create trust and confidence. IVPA assignments are carried out under varying conditions in Sweden's municipalities and regions where there is no national overview of an important existing resource where people live and work. The overall purpose of the project is to study how IVPA assignments can contribute to the new close care that is being developed in Sweden, as close care is security-creating with the possibility of saving lives.
