Care and management of dissociative identity disorder in inpatient psychiatric settings
People with dissociative identity disorder (DID) are at risk of facing negative attitudes and lack of understanding in healthcare.
Through this research project, we want to develop knowledge about how psychiatric inpatient care can best be designed to promote recovery in people with DID, and identify and highlight ethical issues in research involving people with DID. Knowledge about what it means to live with DID and how healthcare can safeguard the needs and rights of people with DID is limited, and only a few previous studies describe experiences of living with DID from an insider's perspective.
