Pandemic in the (sub) Arctic North: A supradisciplinary and interdisciplinary data collection on experiences, resilience and social mobilization during the Covid-19 pandemic with a focus on the county of Norrbotten.
Subproject: Experiences of being close to or caring for people with dementia living in nursing homes during Covid-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted people with dementia and their loved ones' opportunities in daily life, which can have an impact on health and well-being. In Norrbotten, the pandemic has consequences related to geography, age structures and sparse population with long distances. This sub-project is part of a larger project that aims to collect experiences from the COVID-19 pandemic from different perspectives, where nursing home dementia care forms a part. The purpose of the project is to describe relatives' experiences of how COVID-19 has affected their everyday life, relationships and interactions with the person with dementia living in a nursing home in Norrbotten, and with the healthcare professionals who care for them during the pandemic.
